About this deal

The high-profile case takes Lieutenant Eve Dallas into the rarefied circles of Washington politics and society. I know the story well but still reached for the tissues when Eve disclosed some of her history to Roarke. Everything was mentioned matter-of-factly like talking to someone already familiar with the technology and world. It introduces us to our two most important characters, begins their delightful relationship and sets the scene in a fascinating futuristic world.

Naked in Death was published years before and the similarities in behavior AND characterization are quite upsetting) and. As a person who makes jokes, married to the king of jokers, and with kids who are constantly joking, I can safely say that we just love people with no sense of humor that tell us we aren't funny when we are messing around. But after hearing such glowing things about this series from most of my Goodreads friends--especially about Roarke--I had to finally bight the bullet and get the first book.My man Rourke of course was the perfect match for Eve he definitely brought out her vulnerable side. Lieutenant Eve Dallas had been on the force for ten years and in that time had seen it all – or so she thought.

It is soon clear that Dallas has a serial killer to deal with and one who seems interested in her personally. For instance, there are mentions of some major global events that happened in 2016 (the book was written in 1995) which obviously did not happen. Sure they had insane chemistry and liked to play with each other, but I didn't really feel that emotional pull to each other until the very end.

But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about - except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.
