About this deal

So overall am I impressed by this saddle? Yes, very much so. It isn't the lightest, but the combination of comfort and power transfer is something I haven't really experienced before. This is an insanely expensive saddle and there is no getting around that, but if money's no object and you're looking for something eye-catching and comfortable then it is definitely worth trying. Verdict printed cover with dedicated and proprietary pattern featuring differentiated cushioning zones that provide Superlight full carbon fiber rails with oval section (9,8 mm x 7 mm) with PATENTED DNA (Dynamic Node Action) technology which prevents twisting and keeps the front of the saddle narrow for great pedalling freedom. It makes the Carbon fiber rails even stiffer and, give to the central geometry a longer section to ensure more extensive saddle adjustment. This Rails is used on Superleggera and Carbon FX saddles. An adaptor might be required with some seat posts.

The 3D-printed tech in the new Selle Italia and Selle San Marco saddles is the same as we’ve seen from Specialized, Fizik& Bjorn… down to the fact that the 3D-printing is done with the same Digital Light Synthesis process and by the same Carbon Inc. 3D-printer. What’s different here is that the Italian saddle makers have worked to actually have their padding printed in Italy, where the rest of the saddle is made. Selle San Marco’s slightly more versatile and more padded Shortfit 2.0 also gets its own 3D-printed top.The new Aspide Short Open-Fit Racing takes up the unmistakable style of a great classic like the Aspide and makes it even more modern and captivating. The Aspide Short represents, in fact, the new era of Aspide, for almost 20 years one of the spearheads of the Selle San Marco house: the new 'Short' version will be the first ever with 'visible body', so as to enhance the value of the technical and stylistic details is completely new and complete. The innovative Selle San Marco Shortfit 2.0 3D Carbon FX is extremely comfortable but comes at a very high price, although it's on a par with other 3D printed saddles. The very first time I got on the Specialized 3D printed saddle, I was in love. I wasn't necessarily in love with the shape but using 3D printing for the padding absolutely changes what is possible. The ability to vary the structure of the matrix very precisely allows a brand to tune softness vs stiffness in a way that's impossible with traditional foam. What you get, at least from Specialized, is a saddle that's much softer than you'd expect from a serious performance saddle. weather condition. A special production process guarantees excellent fatigue resistance. All Racing level saddles

As we say with every saddle review on road.cc, comfort is subjective – what might be incredibly comfortable for me could be like torture for you – so it's always worth testing a few before making any purchasing decision. Overall, if you are looking for a short-nosed saddle with an open channel, this particular Aspide is worth trying, if you can. The open central channel had a noticeable effect on comfort – on shorter rides at least – and I found myself staying in the saddle more than usual. The abrupt shape and padding around the open channel might be an issue, though, and could impact overall comfort, especially as the miles mount up. Verdict

Cadex Amp saddle

Again the padding uses its own unique structure to provide the desired level of support and comfort, while again sharing the exact same carbon shell & rails as the standard Shortfit.

It comes in the same two widths (140mm or 155mm), and sells for 400€ as the Carbon FX with full carbon rails or around 50€ less as the Shortfit 2.0 3D Racing with titanium Stealth Xsilite rails – available from late September 2022. Selle San Marco Allroad & road colors bridges, which enhance the rigidity with ergonomy and durability characteristics, without affecting weight to the Made with a proprietary, 3D printed pattern, the Shortfit 2.0 3D Racing provides support on the toughest road rides, A saddle is a personal preference and no saddle will be perfect for everyone. That doesn't change when talking about a 3D printed saddle. The only difference there is that 3D printing allows for much more precise tuning of the padding. A great saddle company can exploit this new tool to do what they've always done before just with more precision. The rails are manganese and the whole build weighs in at 249g, which is 54g heavier than before. It's still not excessive. Value The new Selle San Marco Aspide Short Open-Fit Racing saddle is a shorter version of the very popular standard Aspide, and features an open channel designed to reduce pressure. It's very well made, but the comfort of any saddle is subjective and for me this model of the Aspide was fine on shorter rides but had me less impressed as the mileage increased. Selle San Marco says: "The SHORTFIT saddle was created to meet the needs of the most demanding cyclists who, for certain types of training sessions or rides, rotate their bust a lot moving to a position close to the handlebars. The special ergonomic shape of this new saddle features reduced length and ensures proper support in the generous rear section and optimum pressure distribution in the front section. Conquer any road ride with the lightweight Carbon DNA rails and 3D printed cover of the Shortfit 2.0 3D Racing
